Hello Emmaus friends,
After going back and forth with our board members and getting a final count on the numbers, we will be postponing the Fall Walks 124 and 125 until Spring.
April 16th- 19th and 23rd - 26th are the tentative dates.

I know there has been a lot of work put into these walks by Nancy, Marc and their teams. All of that effort will not be wasted as when it is time for the Spring Walks, you will be ahead of the work that will need to be done.

We have to understand that we must work harder to get our pilgrims. We need to remember what these walks meant to us and that alone should be enough incentive for us to be looking daily for someone to sponsor.

The training for Saturday, Sept 13th and Sept 27th will also be cancelled. Please pass the word to the teams. Encourage everyone to come to the Gathering next Friday night, Sept 19th at Trinity On The Hill.

Things don't always go as we'd wish, and we often don't have all the information we desire. Such times aren't just testing times; they are trusting times. The Bible tells us to walk by faith and not by sight, for without faith it is impossible to please Him. Those who come to God must believe that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. (2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:6)

I appreciate each of you so much and love you all with a love from our Father.

Prayer Request
One of our community members is asking for prayer, he writes:

"My wife has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She has undergone one round 24/7 of chemo. With continued chemo treatments she has a 12% chance of living a year. With bone marrow transplant her chances increase to 57% survival rate for a year.

Due to her brother's miserable quality of life after 2 stem cell transplants and his eventual passing, she has determined not to have a bone marrow transplant

Please pray for us.

Please lift this family up in prayer

Happy Thanksgiving,

We have so much to be thankful for this year and the years to come. Amen

This will be our last gathering this year, Nov 21st 2014. It will be at Dearing United Methodist Church in Dearing, GA. Susan and Kim Hancock's church.

Please take a moment and call someone from our Emmaus family who has not been coming and invite them. Pull out the big brown envelope that you took home after the walk. It has all the names and phone numbers in it. Hey! You can also text someone!

Come, sing praises to our Lord and Master, socialize with precious friends, have Communion and don't forget the food.

The covered dishes that you bring are wonderful. (you know we all enjoy the food).

We love each of you and hope to see you Friday night Nov.21st
